POOLER, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah and Pooler fire departments are currently fighting a fire at the American Packing and Crating at 122 Norwest Ct. in Pooler.

Officials said two propane tanks caught on fire, and the fire spread to several trailers and crates.

"I first saw," said Morrell Larkin, forkilft and clamp lift operator with American Packing and Crating. "I was riding on my clamp with a load and I saw someone run into the door with the fire extinguisher and I said 'let me investigate this, I don't want a fire breaking out and I'm still on here' and as I got to the door, I saw one of the people running with fire exstinguishers and I heard a boom, and that's when I called 911. A propane tank caught fire and it had an explosion that caught some trailers on fire. The trailers were empty. The building didn't catch fire, but close to it."

All of the employees were sent home after the fire broke out, and they believe they will not be able to return to work until Monday.

A foam truck has been brought in to help control the fire.

One employee sustained minor injuries, but is expected to be ok.
