Gulfstream hosts Aviation Career Day For Students

Posted: Updated:

Gulfstream invested in their future Thursday morning as they hosted hundreds of students from Chatham, Effingham and Bryan counties for Aviation Career Day.

The aim of Aviation Career Day is to introduce students to the aerospace field by showing them how Gulfstream builds, markets and supports its worldwide fleet of advanced business jets.

Activities focused on an aircraft simulator, major assembly, final operations, interactive design, furniture making, maintenance and operational support, and sales and marketing.

"At Gulfstream we value our partnership with the area schools and we are really glad to partner with them on STEM (an interactive science, technology, engineering and mathematics). We want to help these kids who are interested see what careers are right here in Savannah," said Mark Bennett, Community Relations Manager.

"I am most excited about seeing all the planes because my dad owns a airplane. I just think they are so amazing. I am interested in maybe one day engineering planes, " said Gordon Sebring, a homeschool student.

Gulfstream will host another group of students on Friday.
