(RNN) - A strong earthquake has hit southwest of Mexico City.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports a magnitude 6.8 hit Tecpan de Galeana, Mexico, which is on the Pacific coast.

The Associated Press reports thousands of office workers streamed into the streets in Mexico City, which is about 180 miles away.

There have been no reports of injuries, and no tsunami warning has been issued. The AP reports there is some damage near the epicenter - some roofs of homes collapsed.

The same area experienced a 7.2 magnitude quake in April. The 6.8 temblor is considered an aftershock to that quake.
