BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) -

Two men were arrested on drug charges in connection with an investigation by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Investigations Sections.

They carried out a search warrant Wednesday afternoon at the Suburban Lodge in Bluffton. At about 3:40 p.m., investigators and members of the Sheriff's Office SWAT Team responded to room No. 265 at the hotel. That's where they believed 54-year-old Leroy Stevens and 35-year-old Michael Pearson had also been manufacturing methamphetamine, according to the BCSO. They weren't there at the time of the search.

They discovered materials for cooking meth. A small amount of suspected meth was collected, but it did not appear that meth was being cooked at the time of the search.

Phillips Recoveries Inc. responded and collected all potentially hazardous materials. Stevens and Pearson returned with officers were still there and were taken into custody on charges of possession of methamphetamine and manufacturing methamphetamine.
