Bluffton Village Festival to affect Old Town traffic

BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

The 36th annual Bluffton Village Festival is happening this weekend in the Lowcountry. 

The festival draws hundreds of vendors and thousands of visitors to the area. Festivities will happen Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Old Town Bluffton along Calhoun Street.  

It is expected that traffic along May River and surrounding areas will be affected by the increase in visitors. The following are expected street closures:

  • Starting Friday at 5 p.m. - Calhoun Street from May River Road to Water Street will be shut down to all vehicle traffic.
  • Then on Saturday starting at 6 a.m. at Calhoun at Water; Allen from Boundary to Calhoun; Bridge from Boundary to Calhoun; Green from Boundary to Calhoun; Lawrence from Boundary to Dubois; Lawton from Boundary to Calhoun; and Church from Boundary to Calhoun.

Bluffton Police will be manning key intersections to assist with traffic and pedestrian crossing.
