TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -

Tybee Island Police have made two arrests after last week's bar-sawing and property theft at Doc's Bar.

Robert Parker and Peggy Stone were arrested for felony theft.

Investigators said the building was ransacked inside and out, even the sign. The bar was also sawed in half and a pile of sawdust surrounded it.

Parker is the husband of the former tenant and Doc's Bar owner, Stone, who is also wanted by police.

The actual property is owned by the Chu family, according to Tybee Island Police.

The Chatham County District Attorney's Office has determined the lease agreement between the two parties mandates all property belongs to the property owner, not the tenant.

Many locals on Tybee were sad to see the bar close after 60 years and were shocked to hear what happened.

"We are just, all us Tybee locals, upset," said former customer Belva Greenage.
