GA Ports back to normal after machine flips over

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Everything is getting back to normal at the Georgia Ports now, after a container with a fuel tanker inside, flipped over.

WTOC's Jonathan Burton was there, right outside of gate five, and he tells us this happened just before 2:30 p.m., Sunday afternoon. The ports acted quickly and alerted Garden City Fire and Savannah Fire Haz-Mat Team.

According to the Georgia Ports, an employee was driving one of the machines that loads the containers on the ships. The machine and the container it was carrying, flipped over. Fortunately, the fuel that was inside of the tanker did not leak. But, the container is ruined.

The Haz-Mat team was called out, just as a precaution. It took them about two hours to clean up and secure everything.
