SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

One man is dead and another critically injured following a weekend crash in Savannah.

Police say Ricky Adger was driving a Volvo SUV down Abercorn Street at a high-rate of speed shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday when he apparently lost control of the vehicle, crossed the median and crashed into a large tree at the corner of East 49th Street. His passenger and cousin, Latroy Adger, was killed in the wreck.

The driver was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. At last check, he had undergone surgery.

Altoria Adger, Latroy's wife, remains strong and courageous through this tragedy, saying, "I have to stay strong for my kids because that is what he would want me to do."

Adger does not have insurance and is worried she will not be able to bury her husband. For information on how to help by donating to Altoria and the Adger family, call 912.346.6183.
