CCSO K-9 Aldo passes away

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Aldo, a K-9 officer with the Chatham County Sheriff's Office, passed away on May 8.

Aldo, 9, was assigned to Deputy Jason Livie. The black lab carried both a Georgia State Explosive Certification and the ATF Federal Explosive Certification.

Aldo was with the CCSO for seven years before retiring in November of 2013.

He conducted over 3200 searches, and assisted with many searches for the Secret Service VIP(s), which included President Clinton, President Bush, and President Obama.

Aldo passed away on Thursday, May 8, with his handler Livie and family by his side.
