JULIA'S FORECAST: Most rain holds off until Wednesday

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

We have officially had our first 90 degree day of the season! To have the first 90 degree day in mid May is pretty on trend, so nothing astonishing about the heat and humidity we've seen so far this month.

Today, temps will likely top out in the upper 80s. It should be a fairly similar day to what we've been dealing with for the past several days. Expect a cloudy morning, a hot afternoon with sun and clouds, and a few showers during the hottest hours of the day.

Tomorrow is the weather-changing day. Wednesday will feature rain and storms as a cold front pushes through. Highs will only be in the upper 70s to near 80.  We're looking at up to an inch of rain, with locally higher amounts in any heavy downpours.

Rain exits by early Thursday morning and the day will be much cooler and drier feeling, with highs near 70.
