SWAT situation over at Savannah home

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A domestic dispute call turned into a SWAT standoff Friday in Savannah.

At least three people are in police custody after the nearly three hour standoff at a residence on Altman Circle on Savannah's eastside.

Officers responding to a domestic dispute call found one person with an outstanding warrant.

Authorities have not identified the subject of the warrant nor the reason for its issue, but the person identified in the warrant locked himself in a back room and refused to come out.

"I think that he should have came out like a normal person and talked to them, because it was getting worse and worse, and some people don't like that, because he was destroying the piece," neighbor Rachel Stokes said.

The suspect eventually surrendered without further incident.

While the confrontation happened in Savannah, Thunderbolt Police are also investigating.

WTOC will bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
