TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A man has died after an early morning shooting on the south side Saturday.

Tucson Police responded to the 300 block of West 44th Street at 12:44 a.m. When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old male inside the home. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Two other people were also in the home but suffered no injuries.

Homicide Detectives determined that the suspected shooter had driven to the victims house and confronted him at the front door. The suspect pulled out a handgun and the victim shut the door. The suspect then shot through the door, shooting the victim inside.

The suspect had fled the home in a vehicle after the shooting.

Detectives believe the suspect and the victim knew each other and they are conducting an investigation to determine the suspect's identity.
