Pooler Karate, Rape Crisis Center educate women on self defense

POOLER, GA (WTOC) -

Pooler Karate teamed up with the Rape Crisis Center to help educate woman on self defense on Sunday.

Pooler Karate owner, Todd Mashburn, a certified and experienced Krav Maga instructor, lead the two-hour self defense course, meant to encourage self confidence, awareness, and personal safety. The class is an excellent way to empower women and help them feel safe.

"We want to do as much as we can to give back to the community. This area has been very good to us, and we want to help organizations like this, because we have a special place in our hearts for the ladies of the Chatham County/Savannah area. We also work closely with our military, and work closely with our law enforcement, so we just want to give back to those in the community that have been so good to us," said Todd Machburn, Lead Instructor & Owner.

The class was a Mother's Day gift for mothers, daughters, and sisters in our area.
