Congressman-elect John Barrow is touring the 12th District, getting up to speed on healthcare concerns. Barrow stopped by Memorial Health in Savannah this morning for a tour of the facility. Barrow says the district is diverse with different hospitals having different needs. He wants to open up the lines of communication in the health field and make his transition to congress a smooth one.
"We want to make sure the issues don't stop for transition," he said. "And don't get dropped in the cracks between one congressman and another. I think it is very important for us to be up to speed on all the issues we are dealing with as soon as we show up."
Today was the final day of a two-day listening tour for Barrow. He'll be sworn into office in January.
