Polling precincts across Georgia opened to voters at 7 a.m. for the May 20, 2014, Primary Election.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday. Voters can confirm their polling location by visiting the Secretary of State's My Voter Page at www.sos.ga.gov/mvp and at WTOC's Politics page.
Citizens are encouraged to verify the hours in which their polling location will be open with the local boards of elections as hours can vary. Click here for the Chatham County Board of Elections website.
Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp also reminds voters to bring any valid state or federal government issued ID.
Types of valid photo ID include:
A Georgia driver's license, even if expired
Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency or entity of the U.S.
Valid U.S. passport
Valid U.S. military photo ID
Valid tribal photo ID
If voters experience any issues, they should immediately contact the poll manager on site or the Secretary of State's Office at 877.725.9797.
Need a ride to the polls? The Savannah Branch of the NAACP is offering free rides on Election Day. Chatham County residents can call 912.233.4161 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday and request a ride.
