Man arrested after standoff in Bulloch County

BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office and Statesboro Police have arrested a man after he barricaded himself inside of his residence during an investigation.

Jonathon Anderson, 30, was under investigation for an aggravated battery case that happened on May 15 in the Season's Apartments on Robin Hood Trail.

Officers from the Statesboro PD attempted to make contact with Anderson at a resident on Harville Road when they heard what sounded like a gunshot from inside the residence.

Other agencies were called for assistance, and after a short time, Anderson was taken into custody. There were no injuries during the incident.

Shortly after arriving at the Bulloch County Jail, Anderson assaulted another inmate in the booking area.

Anderson faces additional charged for his conduct in the incident.

Anderson has been charged with one count of aggravated battery, one count of aggravated assault on a peace officer and one count of violence in confinement.
