Five dead, two wounded after a week of violent crimes in the Lowcountry

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Here in the Lowcountry, there have been seven violent crimes since Wednesday. Law enforcement agencies here are still looking for several suspects from those attacks.

Since Wednesday there have been six shootings and one stabbing.

Five people are dead, two wounded and five suspects are still on the run.

Charleston County Sheriff's deputies say Ricardo Smith was shot around 9:30 Saturday night on Big Oak Road in Lincolnville. Neighbors did not want to go on camera because the suspect is still out there.

Also still on the run is 38-year-old Reco Felder. Charleston Police say he shot the mother of his child Saturday morning around 7.

On Friday, Berkeley County Deputies put out a murder warrant for Lee Bradley. Deputies say he took off after stabbing his girlfriend to death.

Also on Friday, the Charleston County Coroner said a 21-year-old man was shot and killed while sleeping on his couch. He was in a home on South Surrey Drive in North Charleston. So far no arrests have been made.

On Thursday, there were two shootings. The first occurred at the Intown Suites in North Charleston where a man was wounded. Police say they are looking for a suspect named Andrew Trotter.

The other shooting on Thursday left one man dead in downtown Charleston. Charleston Police arrested Brandon Rashard Marshall who they say shot and killed a man at an apartment on Wilson Street.

Another man was killed Wednesday night in North Charleston. Investigators say 29-year-old Dustin Backman opened fire from his car, hitting the victim in the chest, killing him.

If you saw or heard anything from any of these incidents, call Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
