CEMA discusses plan for storm aftermath, recovery

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Chatham Emergency Management is prepared to organize many different operations, so that our community can take proper action in the event of a hurricane or tropical storm. But, what about for after the storm hits?

On Tuesday, CEMA brought over 100 members from different municipalities and organizations together to go over an aftermath and recovery plan, in case a storm were to damage our community.

"What are we going to do with our economy, what are we going to do with our housing situation, with our infrastructure? How are we going to rebuild this? What departments are in charge of this? What municipalities; how will the municipalities be involved; the private sector be involved? This is where we are going," said Clayton Scott, Director, CEMA.

While CEMA hopes this plan will never be needed, they will be prepared, just in case.
