EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

An Effingham County man is facing arson charges after a domestic dispute led to a fire in the home.

Fire crews were called to Kensington Circle in the Kensington Subdivision around 10 p.m. Thursday.

When first responders arrived at the scene there were flames coming from the home. They say there is significant damage to the master bedroom and bathroom and smoke damage throughout the home, but no one was injured.

Effingham County deputies say a man living there, Thomas Franklin "Franky" Dodd, 27, is being charged with arson and criminal damage to property, among other pending charges. He is currently at the Effingham County Jail awaiting a bond hearing that is set to take place later Friday morning.

Deputies remain on the scene to make sure no one goes in to the home. The home is roped off but all roads are open and no traffic should be affected.

The fire marshal is expected out first thing Friday.
