Funeral arrangements have been set for a Toombs County primary school teacher found murdered in Vidalia.
On Thursday, police say Simon Dixon, a.k.a. Simon Dixon Mitchell, 30, was panhandling in and around the Vidalia Walmart in the days before Lyons Primary School teacher Robin Matthews, 24, was found stabbed to death in her car.
Investigators are still trying to piece together exactly why Matthews let Mitchell into her car in the Walmart parking lot on Wednesday afternoon. The two are not believed to have known one another.
The murder remains under investigation.
Visitation for Robin Matthews will be Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home, 310 North Street West, Vidalia, GA, 30475. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m., also at the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home.
