SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

It's a day many Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) students look forward to all year long and on Saturday hundreds of SCAD students earned the right to turn their tassels.

Nearly 2,000 students received their bachelor's and master's degrees during SCAD's 34th commencement ceremony. Margaret Russell, author and editor in chief of Architectural Digest, addressed the graduating class. The students earned degrees in majors like architecture, fashion design, communication arts, digital media and performing arts. Despite recent studies that graduates are having a difficult time finding a job... these graduates feel they have a leg up on the competition.

The civically pivotal Arnold and Lorlee Tenenbaum each received an honorary doctor of humanity degree as recognition of their enrichment to the cultural, economic and artistic landscape of savannah.
