STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

Investigators with the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team conducted a narcotics investigation on May 31 at the Park Place Apartments on Lanier Drive in Statesboro.

The investigation was based on information that a large amount of heroin was being transported to that location from Atlanta.

At 10 p.m., Damonta Anderson, 25 and Mikeon Briddy, 23, both of Atlanta, arrived at the location to deliver the heroin.

When authorities tried to take Anderson into custody, he attempted to flee on foot. He was subdued by a Taser. Briddy was taken into custody without incident.

Both Anderson and Briddy were transported to the Bulloch County Jail, where they are being held without bond pending a hearing in Superior Court.

Anderson was charged with trafficking in heroin and obstruction, while Briddy was charged with trafficking in heroin.
