BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

Three good Samaritans in Bluffton join efforts to rescue a kitten from a storm drain.

Town Building Inspector, Sandy Oliver, saw the kitten run across Bluffton Parkway, and stopped to try to save his life.

Officer Jake Higgins, of the Neighborhood Services Unit, stopped to block traffic, so Oliver could safely rescue the kitty out of the storm drain. Higgins joined the rescue efforts, using his baton as a way to drag him closer to safety.

Cleland Site Prep Supervisor, T.J. Savarese, then joined in the rescue by helping block traffic with his truck, opening the storm cap, and then finally grabbing the kitten as it scurried around the drain.

Debbie Szpanka, PIO, transported the kitten to the Palmetto Animal League, where volunteer Kim Young took "Stormy" home to join a handful of other foster kittens.

Stormy is safe, warm, and fed.
