SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

One year ago Wednesday, the city of Savannah lost musical legend, Ben Tucker.

Tucker was killed when he was hit by a speeding car while crossing the road in a golf cart on Hutchinson Island on June 4, 2013. A 52-year-old Texas man, Robert Martin, was charged with racing, vehicular homicide - first degree and reckless driving in the case.

On Wednesday, a concert will be held at Tucker's church commemorating his life's work and the first anniversary of his tragic death. It will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Ascension, 120 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401.

The public is welcome to the free event and also encouraged to bring instruments to join in.
