Hospice Savannah honors woman through We Honor Veterans Program

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A very special lady received a very special honor on Friday.

Hospice Savannah, through their We Honor Veterans Program, sent a representative from the Air Force and the Army to visit Amelia Jones.

Jones is 94 years old and served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. The men spent time sharing stories with Jones and thanked her for her service.

Jones said if she could go back, she would do it all again.

"That is where I met so many people," said Jones. "I met so many good men. It was very interesting and worth every hour that I spent. It is the contact with the outside world. To me, it is something that I will never forget. I really enjoyed it. "

Hospice Savannah strives to recognize each veteran enrolled in their care to show all of our appreciation.
