The Animal Control Division of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department provided rabies inoculations, nail trims, and micro chipping for cats and dogs on Saturday.
The Summer Rabies Clinic was held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Animal Control Center.
Rabies vaccinations and nail trims were $10 each. Micro chips, including lifetime registration, were available for $20.
"Rabies is important; these animals need to be vaccinated if they were ever involved in a bite case. We have lots of species that carry rabies here in Chatham County, so it keeps the animals and the people safe and healthy.
Animal Control officers were on-hand to help handle the cats and dogs.
This was the second clinic of the year. There will be another one in a few months.
