Lee Co. officials call suspicious device a commercial hoax

LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

The Lee County Sheriff's office has confirmed that the suspicious device found at the Goodwill Donation Center was a commercial hoax, and not a bomb.

They choose to take all precautions and destroyed the device.  Lee County law enforcers don't believe that Goodwill was a target.

Julie Bennett, Director of Communications for Goodwill, says the worker acted correctly when contacting authorities after finding the suspicious device.

Lee County law enforcers say anyone found selling these type of commercial devices made to look like real bombs is against the law.
