Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department received a call around 10 p.m. Sunday about a man who lying in the grass in front of a home.
The man was shot a little after 10 p.m. at 42nd and Live Oak Street.
Neighbors say they heard three shots, and then a man yelling for help. That is when they rushed outside to try to help the man and stop the bleeding. They say he appeared to be bleeding profusely.
The neighbors called 911, and EMTs arrived and got the man on a stretcher. They say his eyes were open, but he was unable to talk. The man appeared to be middle-aged.
The extent of the injury is unknown at this time.
There is no word on any suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
