SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A plea may be coming in the gambling case involving former Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Chief, Willie Lovett.

Randall Roach Sr. is accused of operating the illegal gambling that Lovett is accused of protecting.

Roach has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. Could this mean he is cooperating with prosecutors and providing evidence against Lovett? So far, the U.S. Attorney's Office will not say.

"There is a hearing scheduled for tomorrow in the case agaisnt Chief Lovett. When asked what he could say about that, Assistant U.S. Attorney, Ed Tarver said,  "I can't say anything."

Roach's change of plea hearing is sheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the federal courthouse in Savannah.
