CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

A multi-county theft ring may soon be crushed with the arrest of 33 year old Ryan Kennedy Tuesday evening in Cordele.

Crisp County have also just arrested Justin Scott Pate of Cordele for burglary, without incident, at his mother's home.

Pate may have been collaborating with Kennedy.

They already recovered a huge haul of stolen property in this wide-ranging case, after Daniel McGee of Cordele was charged with eight counts of burglary in Wilcox County.

Crisp Sheriff Billy Hancock said deputies stopped Kennedy of Cordele, who was driving a green GMC Sonoma on 16th Avenue in Cordele about 6:20 Tuesday.

They found multiple stolen items believed to be from recent burglaries in Wilcox and other counties. Kennedy was arrested and charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen property.

Authorities went to Dooly County where more items were recovered from numerous thefts and burglaries in surrounding counties.

Crisp, Wilcox, and Worth Counties continue to investigate the recent cases and anticipate that there could be more arrests. Warrants have been issued for 27 year old Justin Scott Pate of Cordele for Burglary.

Due to recent media reports, Worth County residents were able to retrieve some of their stolen items from the Crisp County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Hancock encourages anyone that may have information on Pate's whereabouts to contact the Crisp County Sheriffs Office.

Hancock said he commends the men and women of the Sheriffs office who have put in countless hours to retrieve citizen's items and return them to the rightful owner. He recognizes that the men and women of the Sheriffs office are the backbone of the agency and he can't say enough about their hard work and dedication.

This is the latest load of stolen items recovered by the Crisp County Sheriff's Office. Last night, deputies found the items on Highway 280.

"Other deputies were in the area and were able to stop the vehicle that did in fact have more merchandise in it that was coming from some of the burglaries and thefts," Sheriff Hancock

The vehicle was driven by Ryan Kennedy of Cordele. He was arrested and charged with Theft by receiving stolen property. Another suspect, Justin Pate was arrested this today.

"We have reason to believe with the statements that were getting that every one of these individuals are in some type circle. They're either the ones that done the burglary or ones that have bought or fencing the stolen items," said Hancock.

After questioning Kennedy last night, investigators recovered more stolen goods that were sold in Dooly County. Some of the items picked up last night belong to someone in Worth County.

"That's what we are here for. To try to recover all the property we can and protect the citizens of this county and be able to returns items when we can," Sheriff Jeff Hobby.

Sheriff Hancock says this lawn equipment and tools are worth close to $8,000

"And with the two four wheelers that we've recovered the first of the week and some of the appliances from the houses, we're reached over $30,000 of material that's been recovered," Sheriff Hancock.

Hancock says the investigation is ongoing to recover more property and return the items to the owners.
