A Memphis police officer is accused of trying to steal money from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Video shows a mad dash for the cash. Police say a Memphis police officer Ronald Harris was trying to steal money from the make-A-Wish Foundation. The foundation was dropping off $1,500 to a family going on a Make-A-Wish trip.

Police say that Harris head-butted a member of the family, causing a cut so bad, the man needed stitches. After being head butted, Nathan Moore refused medical attention, and insisted on getting on the plane with his family.

Harris has since been suspended from the Memphis Police Department. Reports show he was already on leave seeing a psychologist and he may suffer a mental disorder. His wife said he's threatened to kill her in the past.

Police said they found stolen mail in Harris' car that belonged to his neighbor. When asked about his recent behavior, one of his neighbor's said, "He's a super nice guy. He would do anything for anybody. He's so kind. He's just, I can't imaging anyone saying anything bad about Ronnie."

Another neighbor said Harris had him sent to jail, accusing the man of slashing his tires. A crime the neighbor says he didn't commit, "He sends me to jail, he might as well be in jail. It's only fair."
