EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A convicted felon accused of shooting at two Effingham County sheriff's deputies is now facing more charges.

Eric Harrison, 41, of Eden, was originally arrested on several charges including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, battery and reckless conduct.

Effingham County Sheriff's Office officials say Harrison has now been charged with an additional count of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder on a law enforcement officer.

The two deputies were responding to a domestic dispute call on Raccoon Drive Sunday and were trying to talk Harrison out of the house when he reportedly opened fire on them.

Harrison surrendered after a brief standoff and is now being held in the Effingham County Jail.
