SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Flag Day, not as celebrated as Fourth of July, but still a day set aside by Congress to honor the American Flag and the men and women who have served under it.

One local company is making sure your stars and stripes will be presentable in time for the weekend at no charge.

The ladies at Curry Dry Cleaners are making sure Old Glory looks brand new. Leressa Wright Johnson has been pressing flags for the Curry's for 25 years. She handles each one with care.

"It's symbolic for American people, and we love it." said Johnson. "Every flag is different, but we treat with the same respect."

And it's that love of country that inspires the Curry's to give back with a free pressing. Ashley Curry grew up in the business and says, "It's just a small way to show our gratitude to the men and women who serve our country."

The Curry's have been providing this service since they've been in business and that's 70 years. They say it's in honor of their family that have served as well including two uncles and great-grandparents

They've been honoring the flag before Old Glory had its own holiday. Curry Dry Cleaners has been in operation since 1944; Congress designated June 14 as the holiday in 1949.

Those who know about the service don't take it for granted it.

"We had someone yesterday actually stop by, didn't have any clothes to drop off, and he just said, 'thank you,' and he was emotional," Ashley said.

Large or small, you can fly your stars and stripes with a little bit of help and some extra pride.

"It's nice to kind of take of minute and think about what you're doing and how you might be giving back," Ashley said
