CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Charlotte may be known as a major banking city and home to the Carolina Panthers and newly revived Charlotte Hornets, but when it comes to working in North Carolina, Raleigh is more fun than us.

According to a new survey, that is.

A new study by Glassdoor shows employees in Raleigh-Durham seem to be enjoying their daily work routine far more than those in Charlotte.

In fact, Raleigh is ranked in the #12 spotting, topping Charlotte by 30 spots!

Glassdoor, a jobs and career community, released its second annual Employment Satisfaction Report Card by City, which illustrates how local employees in the top 50 U.S. cities compare employment satisfaction.

When it comes to future business outlook, those in Raleigh are more optimistic that things will improve as opposed to the workers in Charlotte.

Thirty-six-percent of employees in Raleigh believe that business have a positive outlook in the next six months in comparison to the 33% in Charlotte.

Forty-one-percent of Charlotte employees think conditions will stay the same, while 29% of the people employed in Raleigh project things will get worse.

The Queen City does, however, have more employers hiring than the Tar Heel state's capital, polling in at 3,362 job opportunities to Raleigh's 3,104.

According to the survey, the San Francisco Bay Area continues to be the most desirable place to work, with San Jose hitting the top spot, with San Francisco close behind.

This is the second consecutive year that a Bay Area city has held the top spot. Washington DC, Norfolk, and Salt Lake City round out the top five.
