"Big Steve" Memorial Dice Run is here

Gene Sutton Gene Sutton
LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

Hundreds of South Georgians are expected to show their support for America's wounded warriors Saturday in Lee County, and honor a hometown hero.

The Second Annual "Big Steve" Memorial Dice Run will be held honoring Lance Corporal Steve Sutton.  The 24 year old Marine was killed in Afghanistan on May 26th, 2012.

The money raised by the motorcycle ride and events will support wounded or fallen armed forces.  Steve's father, Gene Sutton, says it's a cause dear to his heart.

"The people coming back. Without legs and arms, stuff like that.  Until it hit home, and when I see the deaths, still in Afghanistan," said his father, Gene Sutton.

The Motorcycle ride will start at 10 at the Lee County Courthouse, and ends at the V.F.W. on Philema Road at 3:00.

There will be silent auctions, food, and music.  Again all the funds raised go to support a ROTC scholarship and wounded warrior organizations.
