Whitney Harris: Multimedia Journalist

Whitney Harris joined the WTOC news team in May 2014 as a Multimedia Journalist for Savannah's top-rated morning news show - The News at Daybreak. She's so excited to call Georgia home she's proud to work for the southeast news leader!

This is Whitney's second morning-show gig. Before coming to WTOC Whitney worked at NBC29 in Charlottesville, VA where she was the morning reporter and fill-in anchor. There Whitney covered all breaking overnight and morning news, but she mostly focused on feature stories and community-oriented segments. Even though it's hard for Whitney to wake up early, she clearly loves the AM news!

Prior to NBC29 Whitney worked as an anchor and race/politics reporter for CNS-TV at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism where she won a student Emmy. While there she also created her own feature show called the Food Fitness Feed. Whitney also interned at NBC4 (WRC) in Washington, DC.

Whitney got her undergraduate degree in communication and her master's degree in broadcast journalism, both from the University of Maryland, College Park - Go Terps! She's originally from Oxford, Ohio the home of Miami University (The ORIGIONAL Miami)!

When she's not at work, or digging around for stories, Whitney enjoys working out, cooking, trying new restaurants, hanging out with friends, and sleeping in.

Please send her your story ideas by emailing her at WhitneyHarris@WTOC.com, following her on twitter @WTOCWhitney, or friending her on Facebook- WTOC Whitney Harris.
