Two Officers Resign, a Third Under Investigation

Three Savannah-Chatham police officers are accused of misconduct, and two of them are out of job.

Officer Kevin Digou resigned after internal affairs questioned him about having sex with a woman in his police car. Officer Sherron Decoteau also resigned when accused of participating in an illegal gambling ring.

And last Sunday, Officer Johnnie Henderson was placed on administrative leave. A Georgia state patrol trooper pulled him over in Liberty County for speeding. According to the police report, Henderson was belligerent and refused to hand over his gun, so troopers arrested him.

"I wouldn't call them black eyes," said SCMPD spokesman Bucky Burnsed. "This is a very professional police department that takes its job very seriously, and when situations like this arise, we deal with them effectively, quickly and speedily."

Officer Henderson's case is still under investigation.
