Deputies: Man stabbed in neck during an argument over a woman

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Deputies said a 52-year-old man was stabbed in the neck during an argument on Thursday afternoon.

Richmond County deputies responded to David's Barber Shop at 837 East Boundary around 4 p.m., Sgt. Glen Rahn said. They found Larry Williams with a stab wound on the left side of his neck.

Williams told deputies he and 54-year-old Donald Bernard Hayes were arguing on the 700 block of East Boundary. The argument escalated into a fight. Williams said the argument was over a woman.

Deputies said during the fight Hayes stabbed Williams in the neck. Williams walked to David's Barber shop for help. He was taken to GRU to be treated for the stab wound. EMT's described the injury as non-life-threatening.

Hayes was arrested and will be charged with aggravated assault.
