Volunteers with Wells Fargo start off summer by helping out

Posted: Updated:

70 volunteers with Wells Fargo aren't letting the heat get to them as summer starts. Instead, these volunteers gave back to the community in Savannah for a Community Service Super Saturday on June 21st.

Wells Fargo volunteers in Savannah came together to make sure that those in need have a home and can be in a place they can be proud of.

Starting at 8:30 a.m. Wells Fargo volunteers worked with volunteers from Community Housing Service Agencies, the City of Savannah, and Youthbuild to paint the interior and exterior of a home in Savannah Gardens.

The team also helped lay sod outside of the home on Greencottage Way.

In addition to working on the home Wells Fargo presented a check to the Community Housing Services Agency for 20,000 dollars.

"It makes me feel great, I know we are always looking for a chance to do things, to really give back, and today is a chance we can all get together and do it together as friends, as family, and give back to our community all at once," said Jacob Jordan, Wells Fargo volunteer.

This event is one that Wells Fargo is doing all across the state of Georgia during June, which is National Homeownership Month.

The Greater Georgia East area president of Wells Fargo, Emily Galloway said, "I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday than serving our communities alongside our co-workers and friends. We are honored to help in this way and we are proud to support these non-profits that work so hard to make a difference all year long."
