LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A woman whose dying wish that six German shepherd mix puppies be adopted is coming true.

The puppies were abandoned at the house of an East Texas woman who was on hospice care. She said it was her last wish before she dies that the puppies find permanent homes.

Jack and Jill, who were at Winnie Berry Humane Society were adopted Monday.

Yana Ogletree is helping fulfill this dying wish, saying she was overwhelmed with calls on the puppies from across the state and she's determined to put them in the right homes.

Those interested in adopting the remaining puppies can call the Humane Society at 936-639-1880.
