Three displaced after early morning house fire in West Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

An early morning fire on Savannah's Westside has displaced three people from their home.

It happened around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 200 block of Ferrill Street in Savannah. The fire caused extensive damage to the home. No injuries reported.

Savannah Fire & Emergency Services firefighters say upon arrival they encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the house. The flames quickly spread through the interior of the home, causing widespread damage to the structure. 

Officials say they believe the fire started in kitchen, but that has not yet been confirmed. The three adults who live there were displaced. The Red Cross was contacted to help those affected with alternative living arrangements.

Savannah Fire investigators are to trying to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
