SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Where do you see Savannah's transportation in 25 years?

On Tuesday, the Chatham County-Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission met to discuss their 2040 Total Mobility Plan for the city.

Tom Thompson, the executive director for the commission, said federal funding continues to get smaller, but the leaders have been about the Adjust Longer Plans.

"Every time the money has shrunk," said Thompson. "So every time we have had to drop projects from the Long Range Plan, which means they are not eligible for federal funding. But the good news about this is many of the projects that we've had on the books for many, many years still fit into the long range plan, so there are still a pretty significant accomplishment to be had with the money we do have."

The commission will release a draft of the long term transportation goals soon. That plan will be opened to public comment.
