Tybee Police officer catches alligator in road

TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -

Tybee Island Police Officer Sgt. Randolph caught an alligator at Polk Avenue and U.S. Highway 80 after the alligator sighting was called in by an off-duty police officer.

The alligator was injured before the trapper could come and catch it, and it died before the trapper got to the scene.

The alligator was a between three and five feet long. It was found at 10:35 p.m. Monday.
