Warrants issued for South Georgia woman for insurance fraud

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Warrants have been issued for a South Georgia woman on insurance fraud charges.

Willie Mae Nails, 48, has been charged with two counts of insurance fraud and one count of theft by deception for staging slip-and-fall accidents at three Savannah grocery stores. Her last known residents were in Chatham and Toombs counties.

Nails has allegedly used numerous aliases and has submitted as many as 20 claims for benefits on slip-and-fall incidents between 2009 and 2012.

If any businesses fear they have been victim of a slip-and-fall scam involving nails or other suspects, they are asked to contact the Insurance Commissioner's Office at 1.800.656.2298.
