LIBERTY CO., GA (WTOC) -

A fire in Gumbranch has left a family of seven homeless.

The fire destroyed a single-wide mobile home on Wells Road shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday.

When Liberty County and Walthourville firefighters arrived, the mobile home was almost completely engulfed flames.

The home was destroyed as well as two vehicles, one motorcycle and a four-wheeler.

Liberty County Fire Department officials say one of the residents reported that the blaze started from a fire pit that had caught furniture on fire next to the home's carport.

Luckily no one was injured and all made it out safe.

The fire remains under investigation.

The Red Cross is assisting the family of five adults, two children, two dogs and seven puppies.
