At Friday's Chatham County Commission meeting, the board approved the millage rates for this year.
There's some good news. Residents will actually see a slightly lower property tax rate thanks to $4 million SPLOST repurposing credit.
The rate for the residents in the unincorporated areas will be the exact same rate as last year. In other words, if there has been no major change in the value of your home, you'll pay about the same as you did last year.
Chahtam Area Transit will also pay the same rate as last year.
The commission approved a $195 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
