AAA: 41 million people to travel for Independence Day
AAA is predicting nearly 35 million people will take to the road for the Fourth of July.
(CNN) - The Fourth of July weekend is shaping up to be a busy one for travel.
Despite higher gas prices across the country, AAA estimates nearly 35 million people will drive at least 50 miles for the Independence Day holiday. The group is expecting a total of 41 million travelers over a three-day span, with the majority of the balance taking to the skies.
That's an increase in travelers by about 2 percent from 2013. This year July 4 falls on a Friday.
