Savannah winds patriotic concert salutes United States military

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Independence day celebrations are already underway as a concert was held by the Savannah Winds on Sunday, June 29th at 3 p.m. The annual Savannah Winds Patriotic concert honored members of the military and provided music from a talented group of musicians.

Major General John M. Murray, commanding general of the United States Army 3rd Division read a patriotic narration to the Winds' performance of America, the Beautiful.

The Third ID's Honor Guard presented the colors to open the concert.

The Winds performed a tribute to Robert Cutler, retired Lieutenant Commander of the United States Coast Guard. He is the Chatham County Veterans Council reigning veteran of the year.

Retired General Manager Dr. Bill Cathcart was the emcee at the event.
