CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Dylan, a Northeast Ohio man, told us what happened to him after partying with his friends on Cleveland's west side.

"They say I have a fracture in my skull. A fracture in my sinus and a busted lip," he said.

The attack happened on Saturday. He met friends at Cocktails Bar in Cleveland, after the Gay Pride parade downtown.

"We were there having relaxed time, no pressure. Just like any other bar," said Dylan.

But this bar has been a target because it's a gay bar, and patrons have been attacked before.   When Dylan and his friends left at 1 a.m. they were followed.

Dylan walked from the RTA station on West Boulevard which is less than half-a-mile from the bar. The punks followed him there, too. The last thing he remembers is hitting the cement, but not before they dumped him in a cement garbage can.

"I was out right when I got hit. I got hit from behind him, my head on the concrete and I was out," recalled Dylan.

As he was beaten, the delinquents used homophobic slurs. What the punks didn't know is that Dylan is straight. Not everyone who frequents the bar is gay.

"I had heard people had gotten messed up before coming out of there which is ridiculous. Things are more accepted these days. You wouldn't think it was a big deal," said Dylan.
