CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland Police are on the scene of a nasty discovery in a neighborhood on Cleveland's east side.

The mummified body of a male was found in a house on Cedar and E. 69th Street.

It's unclear how long the body may have been there but it is believed to be that of an elderly male.

Officials tell 19 Action News that the body was found in a bedroom by a land contractor and that the Cuyahoga County Land Bank just took over the property about two weeks ago.

Neighbors say the house was abandoned but squatters have been living in it.

The victim's cause of death has not been released.
